Welcome to the Summer Term!

We had a very busy time last term… We celebrated Mother’s Day, St David’s Day, and of course, Easter. We enjoyed a visit from the Fire Service and we said goodbye to Teilo and his family. This term we are very happy to say a big hello to our new children and we look forward to another fun and busy term. This half term’s theme will be ‘The Circle of Life / The Garden’.

Huge congratulations to Gwennan on gaining her Level 3 qulaification in Early Years Education and Child Care. Gwennan will now be joining the Ty’r Cymry team on a part time basis, working every Monday-Wednesday morning as well as helping us out when other staff ar away.

Katharine will be away from work for several weeks as she has been called for Jury duty. Gwennan and Rose Horridge will be filling in during her absence.

For the next month we need additional help on a Monday and Tuesday between 12.45-1.15pm. If you are able to help, please could you let Rhian know. Thank you.

We would like to invite all parents and carers to see the work which was completed in the garen over the Easter holidays. We view the garden as an extension of the house and as such the children are encouraged to be out much as possible, whatever the weather. Playing in the garden offers the children excellent opportunities to learn and develop new skills whilst enjoying the open air. The new play house which Andrew Radsma has built is truly wonderful, and a special thank you needs to go to Katharine and Andrew for all their hard work.

Over the past two years we have gradually increased our provision in order to meet the needs of our families. This has included the introduction of the breakfast and lunch clubs, the wrap around service, and all day sessions. We are now exploring the possibility of extending our terms dates e.g closing for 3 weeks over the summer rather than 6 weeks. In order for this arangement to be possible we would need to ensure that there is enough demand. I would be grateful for any feedback by May 27th. Thank you.

Ty’r Cymry has been invited to perform on stage at this year’s Tafwyl (Welsh festival held in the Castle grounds) on Sunday July 3rd. The children will be given a 10 minute slot to sing songs which they have learnt over the year. If you would like your child to take part, please could you let me know by June 10th.

You should be now have received this term’s invoice. If you have not paid last term’s fees, please could you do so by May 27th.

SUMMER FAIR – Saturday June 18th (10am-12pm)
Local produce, tea coffe & cake, books and cards. All welcome!

SUMMER TRIP – Wednesday July 6th:
As always our anual trip will be to Barry Island. Ty’r Cymry will be shut on this day as all staff will be needed on the trip. Parents / carers are also asked to attend. More details regarding departure times etc to follw.

Parents are welcome at anytime to discuss any aspect of their child’s development / wellfare, however before the end of this term we will have a parents evening where you will be able to chat to staff and view your childs work. More details to follow.

Remember to ‘like’ us in order to receive all the latest news and updates.

Diolch yn fawr,

Lowri Bunford-Jones
